Financial Analyst

This position is Hybrid and only candidates within commutable distance to Bowhead locations will be considered.

• Track project expenses, update spend plans and month end accruals as needed.
• Report, make recommendations, and analyze project financial status on a monthly basis at a minimum; complete scheduled and ad hoc financial data calls for internal and external customers; maintain compliance with company, contract, and federal/state applicable regulations and policies.
• Interface with Program Management and Support Services in the execution of duties on a regular basis.
• May assist in the preparation of proposals for new and existing delivery orders.
• Prepare cost estimates; develop spend plans; track actual obligations and expenditures versus planned using ERP and EDW; update Cobra spend plans at least monthly; track financial commitments and expenditures; participate in month-end-close duties to ensure financial data is accurate and GAAP compliant.
• Compile financial data to provide to the Business Financial Manager to complete action items and data calls.
• May work with leadership within the assigned unit for financial planning and analysis at a higher level than stand-alone projects.
• Other duties as assigned to support operational needs and goals.

• Five plus (5+) years professional finance or accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree from a nationally accredited university in a related field such as Business, Management, Accounting, Finance, or Economics. Degrees in other fields will be considered with successfully completed coursework in business, finance/accounting fields. Can substitute Bachelor’s Degree with additional years of work experience and/or Associate Degree or applicable certifications.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Both desktop and O365 versions.
• All candidates will be required to demonstrate Excel abilities if selected for interview.
• Intermediate to advanced computing skills including Windows-based systems and data entry across various software platforms.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment; able to work alone or as part of a team.

• Understanding of various government contract types (Costs Plus, Fixed Price, T&M) and basic accounting functions and regulations.
• Familiarity with Costpoint, Concur, Cobra, Qlik View or similar systems.
• Active security clearance highly preferred.
• Understanding of indirect rate drivers and ability to make recommendations to management on rate variance mitigation and management reserve/buffer.
• Experience with large, high-employee-count projects or new high employee & sub count projects.
• Leadership/Management experience or certifications; may be responsible for training or mentoring junior FAs.
• Minimum of two years working in the Gov Con industry.

• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
