The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Temporary Costume Stitcher. The temporary Costume Stitchers are primarily responsible for stitching costumes for the Gainesville Theatre Alliance's productions. The Costume Stitchers work closely with the Costume Shop Supervisor and the theatre practicum students. This is a temporary position, based on the calendar schedule of GTA productions.

• Construct costume pieces either by hand or machine.
• Alter garments as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Some craftwork and wigs involved dependent on productions
• Help maintain a clean and safe work area.

• Must be skilled in basic garment construction.
• Must have strong hand‑sewing skills. Must have strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Must be organized and able to interpret and follow directions.
• Ability to reliably work and remain self‑motivated.

• Demonstrated experience in machine and hand sewing techniques
• Experience in basic theatrical costuming techniques
• Experience in operating industrial sewing machines

• Experience in period clothing construction preferred.

• The proposed salary for this position is: $15.00 hour.
