The University of North Georgia Department of Biology invites applicants for a ten‑month tenure‑track position at the assistant professor level. We are seeking a biologist with expertise in cellular or molecular biology, with a strong preference for candidates whose research is focused on biomedical or closely related fields. The successful candidate will have a record of mentoring students in research or will demonstrate a well‑developed plan for initiating a student research program.

• Teach undergraduate courses in general biology plus candidate's area(s) of expertise
• Scholarly work involving undergraduates
• Advising students
• Service to the department, university, and community

• Ability to work with faculty and students from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to engage in interdisciplinary research

Ph.D. degree in biology or a closely related field

• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
• Research experience focused on biomedicine or related fields
• Teaching experience in cell biology or genetics
