The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for Supplemental Instruction (SI) Peer Facilitators on the Oconee campus. SI serves the UNG community by enhancing learning through peer‑assisted study sessions that promote critical thinking and improve academic performance.
Responsibilities- Lead SI sessions twice a week for the assigned course using collaborative activities and active learning strategies.
- Hold office hours.
- Attend lectures with students to review course content, take notes, promote SI, and model good student behavior.
- Plan SI sessions, including creating agendas and preparing worksheets or other resources; participate in staff development such as orientation training, bi‑weekly meetings, observations of peer sessions, and meetings with supervisor and mentors. Facilitators gain leadership skills and training on the international SI model.
- Possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Undergraduate students must have proven competency in the targeted content area in which they are applying.
- Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Completed targeted courses at UNG with a B or better.
- Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications may still be considered.
