Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) – Senior Helpers

This role provides skilled nursing services to patients in facilities such as hospitals, long‑term care, psychiatric hospitals, and other health care settings under the direction of a registered nurse or physician.

Completion of an accredited licensed practical nursing program. Current and unencumbered license in the state of practice.

• At least one year of experience in the last 3 years.
• Background screening as required by state or client contract.
• OIG, SAM, OFAC, and NSO screening.
• Current American Heart Association BLS CPR or comparable certification.
• Hepatitis B statement or declination per OSHA.
• TB screening and baseline testing at hire; ability to provide recent negative chest X‑ray if previously positive.
• Drug screening as required by contract.

• Work sites vary across facilities.
• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
• Physical demands include reading medical equipment and documents, pushing carts, moving patients, and transporting patients.
• Some states or clients may require an employment physical.

• Complies with ATC Healthcare Services policies and procedures.
• Performs nursing acts under the delegation/supervision of an RN, physician, or mid‑level provider.
• Administers nursing procedures including sterile dressing, soaks, compresses, enemas, suppositories, tube feeding, oxygen therapy, range‑of‑motion therapy, catheterization, and diabetic care.
• Sets up prescribed medications per patient care plans.
• Administers medications orally, intramuscularly, or subcutaneously.
• Monitors medication effects and records patient reactions.
• Assists in rehabilitation programming and activities, such as developing social skills, daily living skills, reality orientation, and recreational skills.
• Records treatment, takes, and monitors patients’ health data.
• Transports/accompanies patients to procedures.
• Performs limited IV tasks if IV‑certified and permitted by facility protocols.
• Maintains confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
• Provides patient care in a non‑judgmental, non‑discriminatory manner respecting cultural diversity and age appropriateness.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
