FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required; the ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. FAR Inspections has been in business for over 9 years.

The purpose of the property inspection is to:

• Verify property occupancy.
• Report on the general condition of the property using a mobile application.

Most inspections are exterior only; about 10% require interior photos after the property has gone vacant.

• Most inspections take 5–6 minutes.
• Complete the inspection within 4 days after assignment.
• Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
• Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
• Complete a short form in a mobile app.
• Spend extended periods driving, making numerous stops within the assigned territory.

• Computer with an internet connection.
• Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus as you pay for your own gas).
• Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
• Printer.
• Pass a standard background check using a valid driver’s license.

Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at FAR INSPECTIONS by 2x.

This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies by county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, the equivalent pay is roughly $30–$40 per hour. In a high‑volume county you could complete 20–500 inspections per month, working 2–30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates and higher volume counties offer lower rates. There is no set amount of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.

No additional mileage reimbursement is provided beyond the flat fee per inspection.
