Part-Time Mandarin Academic

Teach the introduction to Mandarin Chinese with Dalhousie University as a part-time academic for the Fall 2026 term. You'll focus on basic language competence and class administration.

This role involves teaching CHIN 1031.03 from September to December 2026. You will manage all aspects including lectures, evaluations, and maintaining student communications. Two hours of weekly student consultations are also required to enhance learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Mandarin Chinese and Chinese character recognition

• Prepare and evaluate course tests and submissions

• Maintain communication with university administration

• Conduct two hours of student consultations weekly

• Ensure students complete evaluations at course end

Requirements:

• Native or near-native fluency in English and Mandarin

• Graduate degree or equivalent qualifications

• Demonstrated strong teaching abilities

• Previous post-secondary teaching experience preferred

• Commitment to student-centered learning approaches
