Applications are invited from committed and experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals or Social Workers to lead the Supported Living team as Band 7 Manager within the Adult Learning Disabilities Service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. The Supported Living Service delivers a range of care and support services directly to users’ homes from an on‑site care and support team.
The Supported Living Team promotes active support and independence within the scheme, in people’s homes and in the wider community. The Extra Care Scheme includes on‑site amenities, such as a restaurant and a hairdresser open to both residents and the public.
Guernsey provides a comprehensive, high‑quality health and social care service for adults with learning disabilities over 18. Here you will benefit from a unique integrated health service that includes diagnosing and treating patients at the island’s acute hospital, as well as supporting people in the wider community. The service relies on modern equipment and highly trained healthcare professionals.
The current Band 7 salary range is £55,578 to £73,085, plus an annual bonus of £1,605 and higher unsocial hours enhancements: 36 % evening/Saturday and 72 % Sunday/BH. (2026 salary review in process) Annual leave starts at 36 days, up to 42 days, with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.
Responsibilities- Responsible for the day‑to‑day management of a caseload of service users and staff teams within the adult disability service.
- Accountable for the ongoing review, monitoring and updating of care programmes.
- Responsible for managing the allocated budget as delegated by the service manager.
- Manage a staff team supporting service users with their own tenancies.
- Provide support to service users to meet their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs, including mental health issues, challenging behaviours and physical disabilities requiring hoists and similar equipment.
- NMC‑registered Learning Disabilities or Mental Health Nurse, or HCPC‑registered Allied Health Professional, or UK‑registered Social Worker.
- Significant post‑graduate Adult Disabilities experience at Band 6 (or equivalent senior level) or higher.
- Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
- Current driving licence.
- A higher‑than‑UK salary.
- Annual bonus of £1,605.
- Registered Nurse applicants receive an additional £3,000 bonus on completion of two years, then four years of service.
