About the role:

Claims Handler

As a Claims Handler at Islands Insurance Group, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims, providing expert advice, and ensuring each case is handled efficiently and in line with company policies. You’ll work closely with customers, underwriters, and external service providers to deliver excellent outcomes and support the achievement of the team’s goals.

What you’ll be doing :
  • Handling claims in accordance with company policies and compliance standards
  • Delivering a high-quality customer service and expert claims advice
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with customers, colleagues, and external partners
  • Managing your own caseload across varied lines of business
  • Supporting continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to processes and systems
  • Assisting colleagues through knowledge sharing and on-the-job training
  • Contributing to team projects and ad hoc initiatives as required
What you’ll need:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
  • Entry level CII professional qualification, or a willingness to take part in required training to pursue a career within the insurance industry, and to obtain the relevant professional qualification.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and a professional, approachable and friendly manner
  • Experience of operating in a busy, customer focused environment, either face to face or via the telephone
  • Analytical and Inquisitive mindset with strong attention to detail
