This is an exciting time to join Isabelle Vets. We are investing in the future of veterinary care on the island, with our brand-new veterinary hospital at Garenne Park due to open in January 2027.

As Practice Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Clinical Director and wider team, ensuring the practice operates effectively while maintaining the high standards of patient and client care that Isabelle Vets is known for.

This is an opportunity for an experienced people and operational manager to join the practice at an important point in its development and help shape the next chapter.

Guernsey is a beautiful island, boasting a rich heritage and culture plus a laid-back atmosphere. It has an abundance of nature reserves, with stunning cliff walks and beaches – a truly great place to enjoy the outdoors. Residents enjoy an excellent standard of living, and the local schools are of a high standard. Islanders also benefit from a private healthcare system.

There are good transport links to the UK with flight times from as little as 40 minutes or ferry sailings from just 3 hours.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include

  • Supporting recruitment and workforce planning alongside the Clinical Director and central recruitment team

  • Managing absence, holiday allocation and rotas as required
  • Organising and supporting regular management and team meetings
  • Dealing confidently and sensitively with complex or confidential employee matters
  • Acting as a key point of contact for staff concerns and conflict resolution
  • Supporting the management and resolution of client complaints
  • Promoting consistently high standards of customer service
  • Encouraging and supporting colleagues with CPD and development opportunities
  • Working with the Clinical Director to maintain health and safety and compliance standards
  • Supporting financial efficiency, including practice fees, debt management and stock control
  • Identifying opportunities to improve practice processes, efficiency and performance
  • Taking a strategic view of practice development and supporting the transition into the new hospital

  • Organised, proactive and able to prioritise effectively
  • A natural problem solver who is comfortable challenging the status quo constructively
  • Confident managing sensitive and complex people matters
  • Commercially aware and able to identify opportunities to improve efficiency
