FTC Installation Technician

This fixed-term role, running until 31 December 2026, offers a great opportunity to build technical fibre experience while supporting installations and customer service across the island on a full-time basis (37.5hrspw)!

• Installing and maintaining all FTTP services and customer equipment.
• Performing fibre fusion splicing and using mechanical enclosures.
• Conducting site surveys and liaising with customers.
• Interpreting duct and plant diagrams and schematics.
• Installing and maintaining telephone lines using ATA technology.
• Installing the Lifeline product within FTTP environments.
• Climbing poles and using ladders safely and regularly.
• Installing underground and overhead fibre plant.
• Managing weekly schedules and achieving installation targets.
• Providing customer-focused service at all times.
• Operating necessary IT systems and maintaining vehicles safely.
• Following H&S, Data Protection and security responsibilities.
• Supporting shift patterns, including evenings/weekends when required.

The ideal candidate will be technically skilled or keen to develop engineering expertise, with strong problem-solving ability and confidence working y will bring excellent communication skills, customer focus and accuracy in their work. A Category B driving licence is essential. Experience in fibre cabling, telecommunications, engineering or IT is desirable but not essential. A proactive attitude, safety awareness and willingness to learn are key.
