Management Accountant

W&A is supporting an established Scottish business in Dalkeith with the recruitment of a Management Accountant for an initial three-month temporary assignment, with the possibility of becoming permanent. This is a hands-on role offering a varied remit across management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and project accounting, working closely with an established finance team.

Contract:

3-month temporary assignment, with potential to become permanent

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Start Date:

Immediate – applicants must be available to start straight away

The Opportunity

Working within a central finance function, you will support the preparation of monthly accounts across several group companies, initially focusing on a property investment business.

You'll work alongside the Management Accountant, property team and external managing agent to establish accounting processes, reconcile control accounts and support accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts for a smaller group trading company, for review by the Management Accountant.
• Support the preparation of monthly accounts and balance sheet reconciliations across other group companies.
• Work with internal colleagues and the managing agent to establish accounting processes and reconcile balance sheet control accounts.
• Complete project cost reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with financial information and reconciliations ahead of the 2026 audit.
