Lead Teacher of Technology

Oasis Academy Mayfield is recruiting a lead teacher to run its Technology department and sit on the middle leadership team. The post carries responsibility for departmental staff and technicians, curriculum, assessment and improvement planning, with a focus on raising attainment for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners. The specialism is Design Technology or Food, and the emphasis is on leading the department and its standards.

Applicants must show a strong record of classroom practice, and visa sponsorship is not available.

• Lead and develop the Technology department, including departmental staff and technician support
• Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement
• Oversee curriculum development, assessment and departmental improvement planning
• Monitor progress and implement strategies to raise attainment for all learners, including disadvantaged and vulnerable students
• Ensure effective management of resources and the highest standards of health and safety

• Proven track record of excellent classroom practice

• Design Technology or Food specialism
• Ability to inspire and support colleagues through effective leadership
• Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills
