Healthcare Nursing, Nurse Practitioner
Due to continued growth in our patient list, Newbattle Medical Group is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, supportive and forward-thinking team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a progressive practice caring for approximately 24,200 patients
. We operate a successful online triage system, helping patients access the right clinician at the right time, and are proud of our well-established frailty service, which delivers responsive, patient-centred care for some of our most vulnerable patients.
We are particularly keen to hear from experienced Practice Nurses who are confident in the management of long-term conditions including hypertension. An independent prescribing qualification would be highly desirable, enabling the successful candidate to work autonomously within their scope of practice and make a significant contribution to our chronic disease management programmes.
As a valued member of our Nursing Team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care across a broad range of services. The role includes chronic disease management, health promotion, preventative care, sexual health, cervical screening and patient education. We are looking for someone who is committed to providing excellent patient care, enjoys working collaboratively and thrives in a busy and rewarding primary care environment.
Newbattle Medical Group is a GP training practice with a strong culture of learning and professional development. Our large and diverse patient population provides excellent opportunities to further develop clinical skills, pursue specialist interests and contribute to service innovation.
You will work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team comprising GP Partners, Salaried GPs, GP Trainees, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, the Pharmacotherapy Team, Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners, and experienced administrative and management colleagues.
We are looking for someone with:- Current NMC registration.
- Experience working as a Practice Nurse within primary care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
- Good IT and general computer literacy.
- Experience in chronic disease management, including the independent management of patients with hypertension and other long-term conditions.
- Experience in sexual health and cervical screening.
- An Independent Prescribing qualification would be desirable but not essential. Candidates who are qualified prescribers and confident managing hypertension will be particularly welcomed.
- Experience of using Vision would be desirable, although full training will be provided.
- A welcoming, supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team.
- Opportunities for continuing professional development, training and mentorship.
- Flexible working arrangements, with both part-time and full-time applications considered.
- The opportunity to contribute to innovative models of care and ongoing service development.
- A positive learning environment within an established GP training practice.
We would be delighted to arrange an informal visit to the practice and discuss the role further with interested candidates.
