Job Vacancy for a Cook (Chargehand) based at Highbank Intermediate Care (moving to a brand new purpose-built building in Bonnyrigg). You will cater for older adults with varying dietary requirements and work alongside another cook to supervise the kitchen and serving duties. Responsibilities include delegation of tasks within the team, participation in the preparation, baking, cooking and serving of all foods, ordering of provisions and maintaining stock levels.

You will assist in catering for events such as the annual summer BBQ and Christmas Fayre to engage with the local community and raise funds for the Clients Welfare Fund. You will also cater for seasonal events (Easter, Christmas party, Hogmanay) and are encouraged to participate to foster teamwork and belonging. You will provide supervision to Kitchen staff and ensure high standards of kitchen hygiene.

This role supports clients to maintain a varied diet and meet nutritional requirements.

• SVQ 2 in Food Preparation & Cooking or equivalent (essential)
