Impact as a Kennel Manager
  • Act as the primary trainer for new and current kennel staff while performing daily kennel duties.
  • Facilitate communication between kennel staff and hospital leadership, promptly bringing forward questions, concerns, or problems.
  • Provide day‑to‑day guidance, help keep kennel staff on track, and coordinate deep cleaning and organization projects as time allows.
  • Answer staff questions regarding protocols, policies, and procedures, offering support and clear instructions in a respectful manner.
  • Model professionalism and foster a supportive team culture through positive communication and teamwork.
  • Maintain the employee schedule for the kennel staff.
  • Provide personalized care as the primary caregiver for our boarding and daycare pets, ensuring proper food, exercise, and attention.
  • Monitor animal behavior and habits, promptly notifying the medical team of any unusual health concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the entire resort, from kennel areas and runs to outside grounds.
  • Manage inventory for food and cleaning supplies, collaborating with the team to ensure tasks are completed and the resort operates smoothly.

  • A reliable and hardworking nature, with the ability to manage tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to handle stressful situations with composure.
  • The physical capacity to lift up to 50+ lbs and perform the duties of a physically active role.
  • Previous experience as a kennel assistant preferred. A flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, is required.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of hospital and kennel procedures.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude.
  • Promote efficiency, cleanliness, and organization within the kennel.
  • Support hospital leadership by ensuring communication flows effectively between staff and management.
