Mortgage Field Services Inspector – FAR INSPECTIONS
FAR Inspections is looking for highly motivated individuals to perform residential occupancy verifications on behalf of mortgage lenders. Independent contractors earn a predictable full‑time or supplemental income and enjoy a flexible schedule. Experience with mortgage field inspections is not required, but an ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines is crucial. The position is based in Reno, NV, and the company has been in business for over nine years.
Responsibilities- Complete most inspections in 5‑6 minutes.
- Finish inspection within four days after assignment.
- Report general property conditions and determine occupancy based on industry standards.
- Take 9+ photos of the property with brief comments.
- Complete a short form in the mobile app.
- Spend extended periods driving and making numerous stops during the day in the assigned territory.
- Computer with a stable internet connection.
- Reliable vehicle (good gas mileage is a plus, as you will pay your own gas).
- Smartphone (Android or iPhone).
- Printer.
- Pass a standard background check with a valid driver’s license.
This is a 1099 position. Each inspection has a flat rate that varies based on county and volume. Although you are paid per inspection, you can earn the equivalent of $30‑$40 per hour. Depending on the county and whether it is urban or rural, you may complete anywhere from 20 to 500 inspections per month, working 2‑30 hours per week. Lower volume counties offer higher rates;
higher volume counties offer lower rates. There is no set number of inspections per month, but the work is consistent month‑to‑month.
Earn more as you become established, increase your availability, or are willing to cover a larger territory. No additional mileage reimbursement beyond the flat fee per inspection.
