Overview
Ascentec Engineering is hiring experienced Machinists at our Dallas, Oregon location. Qualified candidates must possess the necessary skills to successfully function in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. This position presents a great opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude/skills and an attention to detail with many avenues for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts.
We have three shifts available.
- Swing Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
- Weekend Day Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Weekend Night Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
These positions are on-site (not remote or hybrid) at our Dallas, Oregon facility and are not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.
Job location:
Dallas, Oregon. ITAR requirements apply as described below.
- Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
- Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
- Possess efficient math skills and basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
- Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, pins, indicators and bore gauges.
- CNC setup and operation; load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets accordingly. Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, and Okuma controls.
- Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in-process inspection protocol.
- Must have CNC 3 & 4 axis machining experience. 5 axis is a plus.
- Able to change fixtures, replace tool changes and manage tool libraries.
- Machining and holding tolerances of +/- .0005".
- 5s, keeping area clean and organized.

- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experienced minimum in the setup and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills; 4 & 5 axis is a plus.
- Experienced with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions.

- Trade school and/or at least three-year experience in the manufacturing environment highly preferred.
- $24 to $37 per hour DOE
