Overview
Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are looking for machinists to join our team in Dallas, Oregon. We embrace the GWC philosophy (Gets It, Wants It, Capacity to Do It). This position is for a level 1 machinist capable of functioning in a quick-turn, high-speed machine shop. It offers strong opportunities for career growth. Set up and operate a variety of CNC machine tools and controls to produce precision parts. This position is on site at our Dallas, Oregon facility and not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
Shifts- Swing Shift: Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2:30 a.m.
- Weekend Day Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Weekend Night Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
- All shifts are full-time with a competitive shift differential.
- Load and unload parts for machining up to 40 pounds.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance.
- Read and interpret manufacturing prints.
- Possess efficient math skills and a basic understanding of geometric tolerance.
- Check parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and depth gauges.
- CNC setup and operation; load programs and set/adjust work/tool offsets (Haas, Fanuc, Siemens, Okuma controls are a plus).
- Inspect machined parts following 1st Part and in-process inspection protocol.
- CNC 3-axis experience; 4- and 5-axis machining experience is a plus.
- Able to change fixtures, perform tool changes and manage tool libraries.
- Perform the essential functions of the position; reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees with disabilities to perform the essential functions where possible.
- Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Able to multitask and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in set-up and run of 3-axis vertical CNC mills; 4- and 5-axis is a plus.
- Experience with multiple metrology tools for measuring and recording part dimensions.
- Self-starter / self-motivated / flexible / detail-oriented.

- Trade school and/or at least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
