Senior Pastor Opportunity
We may be a small church, but our hearts are big. Situated between Conway and Vilonia, Sunny Gap Baptist is a tight‑knit family committed to loving one another. We are looking for a Senior Pastor devoted to God and His Word, responsible for shepherding the church, building on our vision and mission founded on biblical principles, and overseeing staff, including worship and youth ministers.
We are ideally looking for a retired or bi‑vocational candidate that has been called to shepherd. Starting salary of $350 per week.

Job SummaryVillage Missions is seeking pastors with missionary hearts to serve rural communities in North America. Our missionaries serve in small towns and rural areas where there is just one church faithfully teaching the Bible. The missionary pastor helps the church thrive spiritually and leads them to share Christ with their community effectively. Rural evangelism is a relational process of patiently building trust and credibility over time, leading to lasting spiritual impact.
Compensation& Support
Missionary‑pastor is a full‑time ministry role for men and their families if they are married. Housing and medical are provided, along with an adequate salary, supplemented with some ministry partner support that is fund raised. Additionally, Village Missions provides missionary care and coaching throughout the missionary’s ministry career. We host an annual encouragement and equipping conference for the whole missionary family.

Worship Pastor Responsibilities & DutiesThe Worship Pastor is responsible for overseeing the worship and music ministry by developing, conducting, and evaluating Spirit‑led music and worship arts.
- Create, cast, and execute a vision for worship ministry based on current trend
- Lead the worship team to effectively engage the congregation in worship
- Consult with the Lead Pastor to plan the worship services in conjunction with his sermons
- Recruit, rehearse, and spiritually nurture praise team members and band members
- Oversee the development and use of “artistic expressions of worship” in all ministry areas, as needed
- Participate in Vacation Bible School, mission trips, church camps, etc., as directed
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers in the areas of sound, lighting, and online media for worship and serve as a resource for all other ministry areas
- If additional monetary resources are needed, develop a budget recommendation for the finance committee
- Oversee the music at weddings/funerals held in the church
- Attend staff meetings, retreats, or conferences, as directed by the Lead Pastor
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
- Have a commitment to First Marion’s church‑wide mission and vision
- Actively attend First Marion with your spouse and children
- Be a growing, fruitful disciple of Jesus Christ through personal Bible study, an active prayer life, personal evangelism, and tithing to the local church
- Born‑again Christian with an engaging and gracious personality
- An evident calling to vocational ministry and a sincere passion to minister through the local church to influence the lives of students with the gospel of Jesus Christ
- An academic degree is preferred that compliments one’s field of ministry, as well as five or more years of experience in a church of comparable size to First Marion (The lack of an academic degree can be overcome with proven experience in one’s ministry field.)
- Competent with sound, lighting, and technology as it relates to audio/video presentations
- Quality singing voice
- Proficiency on guitar and/or piano preferred but not required
- Should always exhibit professionalism, demonstrated by well‑groomed appearance and conscientious work ethic
- Team player (Must be interested in the overall success and health of the church)
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and people skills (i.e. can recruit and train volunteers)
- Possess strong relational skills to build relationships with church members
- Self‑directed and self‑motivated worker
- Detail oriented, yet able to work with composure and flexibility
- Should be conscious of the need for confidentiality
