Staff Accountant - Downtown Dallas, TX (70k-75k)

Senior Executive Recruiter at LHH/Parker and LynchLHH is working with a real estate company in the downtown Dallas area that is adding a new Staff Accountant to their team. This is a well-established real estate firm with a presence all over the country. This is a full-cycle accounting opportunity that would help launch someone's career. The client is looking for a sharp new graduate or someone with at least 1 year of real estate experience.
Job Responsibilities:- Lead the comprehensive preparation of financial statements, encompassing the creation and posting of journal entries, meticulous review of the general ledger, and the completion of support schedules for the balance sheet.
- Ensure that financial packages are prepared and delivered promptly and with impeccable accuracy to Regional Property Managers, Business Managers, and clients.
- Oversee the cash flow for assigned assets, coordinating distributions and contributions as required.
- Skillfully address and document responses to all review comments generated, while investigating variances in financial statements and providing explanations for significant items.
- Calculate management fees and oversee the payment of related invoices.
- Conduct Inter-Project Account reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis and diligently follow up on any open issues.
- Ensure timely payments for all debt, real estate tax, sales tax, and other critical obligations. Maintain internal schedules with precision.
- Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring the swift resolution of any reconciling items.
- File and process unclaimed property in accordance with state and city guidelines, adhering strictly to internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Ensure that approved annual budgets are accurately input into the accounting systems.
- Provide oversight for responses to client requests and review inquiries, maintaining a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.
- Handle client audit requests as needed, contributing to a seamless and successful audit process.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Accounting internship or 1+ year of experience in a multi-location environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
