I’m excited to be partnering with a respected public accounting firm that’s looking to add an experienced Tax Manager to their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys complex tax work, and is ready to take on meaningful leadership and review responsibilities.
What You’ll Do:- Review tax returns prepared by staff and identify tax issues proactively
- Manage the workflow of returns to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely filings
- Take ownership of complex individual, trust, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp returns
- Lead engagement planning, budgeting, scheduling, and staff direction
- Conduct research on complex tax issues and communicate findings to clients and leadership
- Correspond with taxing authorities and prepare client response letters
- Prepare tax projections and support special consulting projects
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate staff; assist with recruiting and training
- Participate in practice development and help expand client services
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Accounting
- CPA required (good standing with state board & AICPA)
- 6–10+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Strong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, regulations, and multi‑entity/multi‑state tax concepts
- Ability to research complex issues and clearly communicate findings
- Experience with tax software (CCH Pro System or similar) and strong Excel skills
- Confident communicator who can collaborate with clients, internal teams, and leadership
- Interest in business development, networking, and growing client relationships
