The RoleWe’re looking for a Senior Accounting Coordinator who thrives at the intersection of numbers, systems, and people. This role partners closely with the Director of Accounting, studio leadership, project teams, and clients to keep projects financially sound from kickoff through close‑out. If you enjoy owning processes, solving problems, and supporting fast‑moving professional teams then this role will keep you engaged.
What You’ll DoProject Financial Setup & Close‑Out
- Translate contract terms into accurate project setups and billing structures
- Review and validate project budgets, fees, and financial inputs in Unanet
- Manage project close‑out activities to ensure clean, compliant financials
Client Billing & Invoicing
- Own monthly billing cycles with precision and consistency
- Compile and validate all project costs (labor, expenses, consultant invoices)
- Review consultant invoices and allocations for accuracy
- Prepare invoices for leadership review and timely client delivery
Cash Receipts & Collections Support
- Apply client payments accurately and efficiently
- Research and resolve payment questions or discrepancies
- Support leadership with collection reporting and follow‑up as needed
Client & Internal Support
- Serve as a trusted accounting partner to internal teams and external clients
- Respond to inquiries clearly, professionally, and with urgency
- Help reinforce a client experience that matches GFF’s design reputation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of general accounting experience
- Working knowledge of general ledger and month‑end close
- Solid understanding of GAAP fundamentals
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working in accounting systems
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills
- Experience in a professional services environment (A&E, consulting, legal, tech services, etc.)
- Project‑based or time‑and‑expense billing experience
- Unanet experience (big plus)
- Take ownership and follow things through, no loose ends
