Position Overview

The Portfolio Accountant will oversee accounting and financial reporting functions for a portfolio of real estate assets, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy in all financial records. This role includes preparing financial statements, managing the general ledger, and working closely with property managers to resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements for assigned properties in accordance with GAAP.
  • Manage the general ledger and record journal entries accurately.
  • Perform bank and financial account reconciliations.
  • Support and coordinate portfolio audits.
  • Process and verify property management transactions.
  • Utilize Yardi or Real Page to maintain accurate records and reporting.
  • Partner with property managers to ensure accurate reporting and resolve issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of real estate accounting experience or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in Yardi or Real Page software.
  • Hands-on experience with GL accounting, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
