Tax Manager

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead complex engagements, deliver high-quality client service, and support the growth of our tax practice. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who enjoys mentoring staff, developing strong client relationships, and solving challenging tax issues across a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and review complex tax engagements, including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns
  • Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing proactive tax planning and advisory guidance
  • Lead, develop, and mentor staff and senior accountants through coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback
  • Conduct technical research on complex tax matters and provide clear, actionable recommendations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while maintaining firm quality standards
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and workflow to ensure successful and timely delivery of services
  • Build and strengthen client relationships, identifying opportunities for expanded services
  • Participate in business development activities, proposal efforts, and networking initiatives as needed
  • Stay current with changes in tax law and contribute to internal knowledge sharing
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or related field
  • CPA license required
  • 5+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including experience in a reviewer role
  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation
  • Excellent communication skills — able to simplify complex concepts for clients and staff
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing engagement teams
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with tax preparation and research software
