LHH is working with a very stable real estate organization that owns apartment complexes in some of the most sought‑after cities in the United States. Partnering with a global investment firm, they operate as a vertically integrated entity, leveraging a robust balance sheet and achieving remarkable returns. This company is seeking a candidate to support the Vice President in executing accounting tasks related to their properties, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
This role requires creative and adaptable skills within a growing environment.
- Perform comprehensive accounting duties, including accounts payable processing, journal entries, accruals/amortizations, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Manage financial aspects of multiple properties within the portfolio.
- Address inquiries from Property Managers regarding monthly charges, invoice coding, and month‑end reporting.
- Aid in the preparation of annual budgets.
- Review monthly charges, gross potential rent reports, and other accounts‑receivable balances.
- Calculate and process monthly property management fees.
- Compile month‑end reporting packages, analyze budget‑to‑actual variances.
- Prepare annual work papers and reconciliations for year‑end tax returns and external audits.
- Assist the Controller in conducting cash‑flow analyses.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancement and contribute to efficiency improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 1 year of prior experience in real‑estate property‑level accrual‑basis accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Entrata, MRI, and/or Yardi accounting software is advantageous.
- Demonstrated coachability, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and analytical and problem‑solving skills.
