If you are an EA or CPA who enjoys trusted client relationships, technically interesting work, and being treated like a professional rather than a chargeable number, this is a role worth exploring.
This opportunity is with a long-established, highly regarded CPA firm in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. The firm advises a loyal, well-looked‑after client base and is known locally for its consistency, integrity, and people‑first culture. Growth is steady and intentional, and senior hires are brought in because they are needed, not because of short‑term pressure.
As Tax Manager, you will play a key role in leading client work, reviewing complex returns, and supporting both clients and junior team members. You will have autonomy, visibility with partners, and the chance to shape how work is delivered, without the politics or constant fire‑drills found in larger firms.
What you will be doing- Managing and reviewing complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and closely held businesses
- Acting as a primary point of contact for a portfolio of long‑term clients
- Providing practical tax planning and advisory support throughout the year
- Mentoring and developing senior and mid‑level staff
- Working closely with partners on workflow, quality control, and client strategy
- CPA/EA with solid public accounting experience
- Comfortable reviewing work and guiding others, not just preparing returns
- Strong communicator who values long‑term client relationships
- Someone who enjoys being part of a stable, collaborative firm
- Established, respected CPA firm with a strong local reputation
- Supportive partners who trust their managers and value good ideas
- Sensible workloads and a culture focused on quality over volume
- Clear long‑term opportunity for progression for the right person
If you are at Manager level and want to stay in public accounting, but in an environment that feels grown‑up, balanced, and professionally rewarding, this is exactly the kind of firm most CPAs hope to find but rarely do.
