Job Description

Join Baker Tilly as a Tax Manager in our Dallas office. You will provide tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to small‑business clients, coach a group of staff, and partner with firm leadership to grow the client base. Your work will directly impact our firm’s success.

What You Will Do
  • Provide various tax, accounting and advisory services to small‑business clients.
  • Oversee and provide services regarding accounting, bookkeeping and prepared/compiled financials.
  • Review and analyze accounting records and reporting, provide analysis and consultation, and communicate with clients about accounting and business matters.
  • Deliver best‑in‑class customer service, responsive, timely, professional and accurate.
  • Lead and plan client engagements, continuously evaluate processes and procedures, implement efficiencies, and identify internal control issues.
  • Recommend business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
  • Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison to address and resolve client issues, and assist leaders in researching additional services.
  • Delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and scheduling deadlines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal tax practices and laws.
  • Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Network and build strong internal and external relationships with clients and community.
  • Invest in your professional development through firm‑wide learning programs.
  • Support growth and development of team members and partake in team outings and social activities that encourage work‑life balance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s or advanced degree desirable.
  • CPA or JD required.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience providing federal and state tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm.
  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience mentoring and counseling associates.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project‑management and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, see the big picture and details, exhibit ethical knowledge, and a sense of urgency and quality.
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
