Sage Search Partners is seeking a Senior Tax Associate for a well‑established public accounting, advisory, and consulting firm based in Dallas, Texas, offering a hybrid schedule with two days in the office. In this role, you will handle complex tax preparation and review for a variety of entities and individuals while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and supporting the firm’s growing tax practice.
In addition to holding a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, the ideal candidate will bring recent public accounting experience, 5–7 years of hands‑on tax preparation and review across partnerships, S corporations, and high‑net-worth individuals, and a current CPA license (or strong progress toward it). You should be highly organized, comfortable supervising engagements, adept at mentoring staff, and confident communicating with clients in a fast‑paced environment.
If you would like to join a dynamic company with lots of room for growth, excellent work/life balance (including reduced hours outside of busy season and other unique perks), and a collaborative culture, apply today.
- Lead tax engagements from planning through completion, taking ownership of day‑to‑day execution while working independently under established firm policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering responsive, high‑quality service and acting as a key point of contact for tax‑related questions.
- Review and prepare complex federal tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120S, 1040, and 1041, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and review tax estimates and projections to help clients plan proactively and avoid surprises.
- Analyze and interpret complex tax issues, applying current tax law to a wide range of client situations and transactions.
- Supervise and mentor staff on engagements, providing coaching, feedback, and on‑the‑job training to support their professional growth.
- Contribute to the firm’s practice development efforts by identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients and supporting business development initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Active CPA license strongly preferred; candidates actively working toward completion of the CPA exam will also be considered.
- Recent experience in a public accounting firm, with a focus on tax.
- Approximately 5–7 years of tax experience, including significant involvement in both preparation and review of returns.
- Demonstrated ability to organize multiple priorities, manage deadlines, and communicate clearly with clients and team members.
- Proven leadership presence with the ability to supervise, mentor, and develop staff in a collaborative environment.
- Proficient with tax‑related technology and software, including strong skills in Excel and working knowledge of Quick Books.
