About

The Role

As an Audit Manager at HM&M, you’ll lead client engagements with precision and insight, delivering tailored solutions across a variety of industries. You’ll mentor teams, refine audit practices, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex financial landscapes. This role offers flexibility, growth, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact—both in how we serve clients and how we develop talent.

What

You’ll Do
  • Plan and execute audit engagements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Mentor and supervise audit staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Review and approve audit work papers and reports.
  • Identify and assess risks, develop audit programs, and perform appropriate testing and review.
  • Communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients and management.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Understand client business and industry to provide relevant audit services.
  • Participate in business development activities to attract new clients.
  • Utilize and understand the rules, regulations, and Code of Professional Conduct of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
  • Demonstrate knowledge in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA), unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statements presentations.
  • Attend and participate in professional education and training sessions.
About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required; master’s degree is preferred. Licensed CPA in good standing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public accounting or a relevant position.
  • Displays advanced knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Collaborative mindset:
    You thrive in a team environment and embrace continuous learning.
  • Adept at working at a fast pace while maintaining precision and meeting deadlines.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal and writing skills, including advising and communicating solutions and issues to clients.
  • Proficient in using relevant audit software.
