Senior Accountant
Dallas, TX – hybrid, 2-3 days onsite
Vaco's client, Dallas-based firm providing outsourced accounting and finance services to privately held, founder/family-owned businesses, is looking to add a Senior Accountant to the team due to growth. Accountants will be managing the accounting and finance functions for clients ranging in size from $1M-30M, including running month‑end close, building out reporting, implementing processes/procedures, SOPs, and processing payroll as needed.
Compensation: $100-130K + bonus
Day‑to‑Day- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, providing timely and accurate accounting guidance
- Support multiple client engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards
- Partner with client finance teams on month‑end close, reporting, and process improvement initiatives
- Translate complex accounting concepts into clear, actionable guidance for clients
- Research and apply U.S. GAAP (and other applicable standards) to complex transactions
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, equity, business combinations)
- Assist clients with financial statement preparation, footnote disclosures, and audit readiness
- Support adoption of new accounting standards and changes in accounting policies
- Identify inefficiencies in client accounting processes and recommend scalable solutions
- Assist with accounting system implementations, cleanups, and integrations
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures for clients
