This is a hands‑on accounting role with a privately owned $15m HVAC & Plumbing contractor based in Dallas, created due to growth and increased project volume.

The business is investing in its internal finance function and is looking to add an experienced construction accountant who understands job costing, cash flow, and the realities of commercial projects.

You’ll report directly to the General Manager and work closely with operations, providing financial visibility across live HVAC and plumbing jobs.

Experience in commercial construction projects (HVAC / Plumbing / Mechanical) is essential for this role

• Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including progress billings
• Cash flow tracking and reporting
• Job cost accounting and project profitability analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting
• Working with project and operations teams to ensure accurate financial data

• 3+ years’ accounting experience
• Essential: background in commercial construction (HVAC, plumbing, mechanical contracting, or similar)
• Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, and project-based accounting
• Comfortable in a growing, privately owned business
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and commercially aware

• Stable, privately owned contractor with consistent work
• Broad, well-rounded accounting exposure (not siloed)
• Direct access to leadership and operational decision‑making
• Salary range $70k–$90k
