JOB SUMMARY/ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
:

The Accounting Clerk must compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. In addition, they must perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. They may also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:

  • Sort and file commission statements for processing.
  • Enter daily financial transactions into accounting software.
  • Manage and log daily deposits and receivables.
  • Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes. Code documents according to company procedures.
  • Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
  • Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
  • Calculate and prepare checks for commissions, utilities, taxes, and other payments.
  • Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
  • Reconcile records of bank transactions.
  • Recognize ways to improve processes and procedures and make them aware to leadership.
  • Perform general office duties, such as filing, answering telephones, and handling routine correspondence.
  • Recognize areas of weakness, provide suggestions, and update documentation for process improvement.
  • Perform general and administrative duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of relevant work-related experience
  • Experience Using Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis in Excel required
  • Experience with Quick Books preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI preferred
