We are looking for a Billing Clerk to support a busy billing operation in Dallas, Texas. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a digital, paperless setting and enjoys using technology to improve accuracy and efficiency. The right candidate brings strong experience with service-based or legal-style billing, works confidently with billing software and Excel, and can manage deadlines while maintaining high-quality client service.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the billing process from draft invoice preparation through final issuance, ensuring each step is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Partner with operational, audit, tax, and administrative teams to coordinate billing activity and resolve issues that could delay invoicing.
• Examine and adjust invoices to align with client-specific billing rules, engagement terms, and internal standards.
• Submit bills through electronic invoicing platforms and track acceptance, rejections, and required corrections.
• Investigate account questions, correct billing variances, and respond promptly to internal stakeholders and client requests.
• Track work in progress, receivable balances, write-ups, write-downs, and related billing performance indicators to support financial visibility.
• Maintain organized billing documentation and help ensure adherence to company policies as well as customer requirements.
• Prepare recurring and ad hoc billing reports and contribute to month-end close activities.
• Support follow-up efforts on outstanding balances and assist with collection-related communication when needed.
