Logistics Pricing Analyst

This position is located in Dallas, Texas and supports the Director of Commercial Operations and the Sales Executive team by evaluating pricing requests, analyzing transportation costs and market conditions, and developing competitive pricing proposals for customer opportunities. This role works closely with Sales, Operations, and Logistics Engineering to assess customer requirements, evaluate pricing alternatives, and support informed business decisions. The Pricing Analyst also contributes to bid analysis, pricing tools and reporting, and process improvements to promote accurate, consistent, and competitive pricing strategies that support customer needs and BNSF Logistics’ business objectives.

• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to assess customer requirements, evaluate pricing alternatives, and support bid strategies and new business opportunities.
• Partner with key decision makers on qualified requests for proposals (RFPs) requiring carrier sourcing, rate evaluation, and market capacity analysis.
• Apply knowledge of the railway and transportation industries, market conditions, historical pricing data, and cost structures to develop competitive pricing recommendations.
• Analyze bid results, customer feedback, and win/loss ratios to evaluate pricing effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend opportunities for improvement.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving pricing tools, databases, reports, and processes to support accurate, consistent, and efficient pricing decisions.
• Support pricing methodology in modeling and evaluating supply chain scenarios using optimization tools to identify cost-effective transportation and logistics solutions.
• Maintain pricing request trackers, checklists, and weekly reports to monitor activity, track progress, support timely responses, and communicate pricing trends and results.
• Provide pricing analysis and proposal support for business development initiatives, major bids, and complex customer opportunities involving multiple transportation modes or logistics services.
• Identify pricing trends, cost variances, data inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve pricing methods, analytical processes, and overall data quality.
