Position SummaryThe Project Engineer 2 assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, and gathers and distributes information. The Project Engineer 2 must be a flexible and adaptable team player and have strong communication and client service skills.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Setup initial contracts and project information
- Coordinate various trades
- Resolving design coordination issues
- Receive, review, forward, and track the status of submittals
- Oversee & manage the RFI process
- Assist in the management of the project permit process
- Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement
- Identify long lead items and establish procurement priorities
- Update construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress, and materials delivery
- Change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders
- Track and inspect material deliveries
- Assists with reports regarding the financial performance of the project
- Assist in the preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required
- Attend and/or lead project meetings, as directed by the Project Manager
- Oversee timely distribution and accurate recording of all meeting minutes
- Assist and/or complete project close‑out
- Communicate and enforce Manhattan's environmental, health, and safety management policies
- Demonstrate commitment to an injury‑free environment through own actions and mentoring others
- Assist in the review of subcontractor monthly payment applications
- Assist in coordinating punch list items and procedures
- Perform quality control inspections & oversee QPL process log
- Oversee project‑specific integration of quality, closeout, photo documentation, & procurement technology software
- Responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work
- Other duties as assigned
- Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office, Procore, & Bluebeam products
- Knowledge of Manhattan document control and scheduling software
- Broad understanding of industry

- Bachelor's Degree – Construction Management, Engineering, equivalent degree, or 2 years of industry experience.
- You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
- Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
