Job Summary

By joining our BV Construction group, you will develop and enhance skills in an on‑site, hands‑on environment. We commit to expert training, career development, and advancement, delivering safety, quality, and final product excellence. Functions include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, startup and decommissioning, and field engineering.

Be the day‑to‑day on‑site representative of the Owner(s), liaise with the GC, subs, suppliers, and other service people, monitor construction progress, safety conditions, and QA/QC program, and promote communications between construction and design teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in Pre‑Construction Conference (normally chaired by the EOR’s PM)
  • Prepare project communications plan
  • Set guidelines for meetings and written communications
  • Plan for various approvals and documentation
  • Organize and conduct regular job progress status meetings
  • Prepare and distribute agendas and conference notes
  • Participate with GC personnel in QA/QC activities
  • Review, certify and file field testing reports
  • Conduct water pipe pressure testing (DIP, SS, PVC)
  • Hydrostatic testing of tanks and water‑containing concrete structures
  • Gas pipe pressure testing
  • Low‑pressure testing of gravity piping
  • Document concrete pre‑pour requirements
  • Review third‑party lab test reports for spec compliance
  • Monitor third‑party testing to assure correct number and types of tests are conducted
  • Take and file daily photos of construction activity and progress
  • Review status of Building Permits and ensure all required permits are obtained
  • Coordinate Building Department inspections and verify permit close‑out
  • Review and certify GC Pay Applications and earned value for SOV line items
  • Verify work‑complete claims and resolve discrepancies with the GC
  • Verify materials/equipment and associated documentation for stored materials claims
  • Ensure all deliverables are received, complete, and correct
  • Perform final check of math associated with pay application and sign and certify the final pay application
  • Review and certify Change Orders (COs) and Potential Change Orders (PCOs)
  • Evaluate validity, completeness, and reasonableness of PCO/CO requests
  • When all issues are resolved with the GC, review the PCO with the Owner(s)
  • When the Owner(s) concur, execute a formal CO
  • Assist in processing and expediting Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Maintain status of RFIs and submittals between EOR and GC
  • Note, document, and coordinate construction issues and solutions with GC, Owner(s), and EOR
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in a construction‑related discipline or craft apprenticeship preferred
  • 5–10 years field experience related to construction
  • OSHA 30‑hour Construction Safety and Health training
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5–10 years field experience
  • Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background, drug screen, motor‑vehicle records)
Physical Demands
  • Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds
  • Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in confined spaces
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls per procedure
  • Perform repetitive movements
  • May require work above 5 feet in height
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds
  • Work up to a 12‑hour shift in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions
Work Environment
  • Typical construction site with cramped spaces, awkward positions, hot or cold temperatures, dust, wind, snow, rain, bright or low lighting, and noise
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment
  • Typical office environment
  • Position is safety‑sensitive
