Full-Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts for large-scale commercial, industrial, mixed-use, healthcare, and institutional construction projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth market. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing estimating, budgeting, value engineering, constructability reviews, procurement planning, and client engagement from project pursuit through turnover to operations.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership and communication skills, bringing a proven track record of delivering accurate budgets, managing complex pursuits, and helping secure and launch successful projects valued at $50M+.
Key Responsibilities Lead all preconstruction activities for large and complex construction projects.
Develop conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP estimates.
Manage the estimating team and coordinate workload across multiple pursuits.
Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and consultants throughout the design process.
Conduct value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize project outcomes.
Develop and maintain project budgets, cost models, and risk assessments.
Analyze drawings, specifications, and design documents to identify opportunities and potential challenges.
Lead subcontractor outreach, bid solicitation, and scope review processes.
Negotiate pricing and procurement strategies with trade partners and suppliers.
Prepare and present budgets, estimates, and preconstruction reports to clients and executive leadership.
Support business development and project pursuit efforts, including proposal development and interviews.
Facilitate smooth project handoff to operations teams upon award.
Qualifications Required Bachelor 's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
10+ years of preconstruction, estimating, or construction management experience.
Minimum 5 years managing large-scale commercial construction projects exceeding $50 million.
Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and procurement strategies.
Experience preparing conceptual estimates through GMP development.
Proficiency with estimating and preconstruction software platforms.
Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
Proven leadership experience managing teams and mentoring staff.
Preferred Experience in healthcare, data center, higher education, industrial, or mission-critical construction.
Design-build and CMAR project delivery experience.
Professional certifications such as CCM, DBIA, LEED, or PMP.
