Director of Project Cost Control

I’m working with a growing heavy civil contractor looking for a Director of Project Cost Controls with a strong project management background in underground wet utility construction.

This role needs more than someone who can produce reports. We’re looking for someone who understands how wet utility projects are actually built and can use that experience to drive cost control, forecasting, project performance and profitability across the organization.

What they’re looking for:

• Strong Project Manager/Senior PM background in heavy civil construction
• Direct experience with water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage and underground utilities
• Deep understanding of project budgets, cost-to-complete and forecasting
• Experience reviewing project performance, production and profitability
• Change-order and contract management experience
• Ability to identify cost and schedule risk before it impacts the project
• Experience partnering with PMs, operations and executive leadership
• Strong understanding of field production, labor, equipment and subcontractor costs
• Ability to establish and improve project controls processes across multiple projects
• Leadership experience strongly preferred
