Company Overview

Fox TV Stations owns and operates 29 full‑power broadcast television stations in the U.S., located in 14 of the largest DMAs, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago. 18 stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. The stations collectively produce about 1,200 hours of local news per week and distribute sports, entertainment and syndicated content, enabling the network’s national coverage.

Job Description

The Meteorologist will execute active and severe weather tracking and forecasting on television and digital platforms using tools such as radar, WSI system, and other sources. The role requires dynamic, engaging on‑air presentation, development of graphics for TV and Digital segments, and collaboration with Meteorologists during daily and severe weather coverage. Remote broadcasting and participation in station and community events are also essential.

Responsibilities
  • Execute active and severe weather tracking and forecasting on television and digital platforms using radar, WSI, and other sources.
  • Deliver dynamic, engaging on‑air presentation and differentiate forecast content even when no active weather is present.
  • Develop and operate graphics for TV and digital segments and social media posts.
  • Collaborate with other Meteorologists during daily, active, and severe weather coverage.
  • Broadcast from remote locations and engage in station and community events.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Meteorology required.
  • AMS or CBM Seal preferred.
  • Ten (10) years of on‑air weather forecasting experience in a medium to major TV market.
  • Proven experience in using weather technology and success across all digital platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and proactive team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a time‑sensitive environment and flexibility to respond to operational needs.

Pay & Benefits

Pay range: $ – $ annually. The role is eligible for medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
