OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV Stations (FOX Television Stations) owns and operates 29 full‑power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas (DMAs), duopolies in 11 DMAs, and the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago). Eighteen of these stations are affiliated with the FOX Network. Together, our stations produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week while also distributing sports, entertainment, and syndicated content.

The stations leverage viewer, distributor, and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position must be able to execute active and severe weather tracking and forecasting on TV and Digital using tools such as radar, WSI system, and other sources. The candidate must have a deep knowledge of weather science and forecasting, and a dynamic, conversational, and engaging presentation style. On days with no active weather, the forecaster must be able to differentiate and vary the forecast and presentation across TV and Digital.

The role involves creating and operating graphics for TV and Digital segments and posts, and collaborating with Meteorologists during daily, active, and severe weather events. Ability to broadcast from remote locations and participate in station and community events is required. The forecaster will work as part of a team, proactively communicating with the Weather team and the Newsroom, and performing well under pressure in a time‑sensitive environment.

Degree in Meteorology required. AMS or CBM Seal preferred. Ten (10) years on‑air weather forecasting experience in a medium to major TV market required. Must have proven experience with weather technology and success on all digital platforms, and a flexible schedule to respond to operational needs created by the team’s schedules, severe weather coverage, and other responsibilities.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location, is $– annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical, dental, vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union‑represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
