DescriptionThe Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for two full time 100% FTE, academic professional track (non-tenure) faculty position with an 11-month appointment Fall 2026, or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor; rank commensurate on review of qualifications. Faculty responsibilities include:
- Clinical Coordination & Supervision :
Coordinate clinical activities and supervise patient care to ensure excellence in service delivery and adherence to institutional standards. - Instruction & Course Leadership :
Serve as instructor and/or course director for pre-doctoral courses, contributing to curriculum design and implementation. - Evidence-Based Teaching :
Develop and deliver lectures that are grounded in current scientific evidence and best practices in dentistry. - Simulation & Laboratory Instruction :
Teach in simulation clinics and laboratory settings, supporting students in developing foundational clinical competencies. - Clinical Education :
Provide direct clinical instruction and mentorship during patient care, guiding students through procedures and decision-making. - Student Evaluation & Support :
Assess students’ professionalism, clinical progress, and performance; offer regular academic and career counseling to foster growth and success. - Departmental Engagement :
Participate in departmental initiatives, including committee service, faculty meetings, and collaborative academic activities
Interested individuals should have a strong commitment to teaching and service. The opportunity for extramural private practice is available. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the selected applicant.
- Candidate must have a DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree (e.g., BDS) from a U.S. or recognized dental school
- Be eligible for dental licensure in state of Texas
- Candidate must have experience in all fields of general dentistry, have strong clinical skills, a strong background in clinical practice, and be familiar with current dental technologies.
All final candidates will be required to successfully pass a criminial background check prior to beginning employment.
