Partner | Senior Director, Executive Search

Our client, a Dallas-based architecture firm, is seeking a skilled Project Coordinator to join their collaborative and fast-growing team. The firm is known for its strong client-focused culture and commitment to building long-lasting relationships with clients, employees, and the communities they serve. With a diverse portfolio spanning commercial, multifamily, industrial, institutional, and healthcare projects, this role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact designs across multiple sectors.

The Project Coordinator will support project delivery in all phases, working closely with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure projects progress smoothly from concept through construction closeout.

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator may be a licensed architect or an experienced architectural intern who is competent in the conventional aspects of architectural practice and has experience across a variety of building types. This role requires a strong understanding of advanced architectural techniques, principles, and practices, as well as related fields.

Working under minimal supervision, the Project Coordinator exercises independent judgment in evaluating and adapting standard architectural methods, solving design challenges, and assisting with the development of both conceptual and advanced designs. The role involves producing complete architectural documents—including plans and specifications—providing construction-related approvals, and helping to ensure design integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently and collaboratively with project teams on the design and development of multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Participate in all project phases, including programming, research, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and project closeout.
  • Make informed design decisions both in the office and on job sites, ensuring consistency with project goals and client expectations.
  • Review, develop, and refine conceptual and advanced design solutions.
  • Prepare complete and accurate architectural documents, including plans, details, and technical specifications.
  • Select materials and provide construction-related approvals as required.
  • Develop or refine techniques, procedures, and approaches for complex or novel project challenges.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and coordination for architectural interns and junior team members, either individually or within small teams.
  • Assist project managers and principals with presentations, project scheduling, and overall project management tasks.
  • Collaborate directly with clients, consultants, and end-users to gather information, present design concepts, and resolve issues.
  • Receive technical guidance on unusually complex issues and seek supervisory approval on major project decisions.
Qualifications
  • Licensed Architect or experienced architectural intern with substantial project experience.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural principles, construction methods, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Ability to independently evaluate, select, and adapt architectural techniques and procedures.
  • Experience developing complete architectural documentation, including plans, details, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to team-based project delivery.
