We are seeking a talented and experienced Architectural Designer with a strong background in data center construction to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing innovative and functional architectural solutions for data center facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. The Architectural Designer will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and scalable data center environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Determine impact of applicable zoning and development ordinances to determine project constraints.
• Analyze existing site conditions to determine impact on facility layout.
• Determine impact of environmental, zoning, and other regulations on site.
• Prepare diagrams illustrating spatial relationships and functional adjacencies.
• Perform building code analysis.
• Select materials, finishes, and systems based on technical properties and aesthetic requirements.
• Develop architectural designs for data centers, focusing on optimizing space, energy efficiency, and infrastructure requirements.
• Work with project stakeholders to translate client requirements into design solutions, ensuring alignment with project goals, budgets, and timelines.
• Prepare detailed architectural drawings, 3D models, and renderings using BIM software (e.g., Revit, Rhino, AutoCAD).
• Incorporate industry best practices and standards for data center design, including power, cooling, security, and disaster recovery systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, and structural engineers, to ensure integrated and cohesive designs.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure design feasibility and effective implementation during construction phases.
• Participate in regular project meetings to track design progress, address challenges, and ensure quality control.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including design concepts, construction drawings, specifications, and project reports.
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates, schedules, and project proposals.
• Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, and material specifications to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Incorporate sustainable design principles to create energy-efficient and environmentally responsible data center solutions.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and innovations in data center architecture and incorporate these advancements into design solutions.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, assess design implementation, and resolve any design-related issues that arise during the construction phase.
• Ensure that the design is being accurately followed and that quality standards are maintained on-site.
Qualifications:
Adhere to ethical standards and codes of professional conduct.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in architectural design.
• Proficiency in CAD and BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, or similar design tools).
• Comply with laws and regulations governing the practice of architecture.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to quality.
• LEED certification or other sustainability-related credentials.
