Bedding Product Developer

Description

As our Bedding Product Developer, you’ll shape soft home collections from concept to production—curating and adapting vendor artwork, building color stories, and specifying constructions, quilting, and trims. This is a line-building role (not surface design only): you refine prints, make construction decisions, and deliver production-ready tech packs on schedule. Prior experience in home textiles, bedding, or soft home product development is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect seasonal assortments/line plans for quilts, comforters/duvets, sheeting, decorative pillows, and throws across brands
  • Curate/adapt vendor artwork (color indexing, repeats, overprints) and build colorways to hit line-plan goals
  • Specify constructions and details—quilting layouts, stitch densities, piecing, embroidery, trims, labels, packaging
  • Build and maintain tech packs & BOMs; track samples, strike-offs, lab dips, and approvals with domestic/overseas partners
  • Partner with Sourcing on costing & value-engineering to meet target margins
  • Translate trend & competitive insights into concept boards, color palettes, and fabric stories
  • Support showroom and web merchandising so presentation matches design intent

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Textile Design, Product Design, Graphic Design (with soft-home experience), or related
  • 2–5 years in home textiles/soft home (bedding strongly preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop proficiency; 3D or AI concepting a plus
  • Solid understanding of fabrications, print techniques, quilting/embroidery, and production
  • Portfolio shows collections and tech packs, not just standalone patterns
  • Organized and collaborative with global vendors; some market/showroom travel (about 4–6 weeks/year)
