We are seeking a talented Project Architect/Architectural Designer with 5-10 years of professional experience to join our client's Dallas studio. This position will focus on both Architecture and Interior Architecture, with involvement in projects from initial concept through construction and completion.

We are looking for someone with a strong architectural foundation, excellent technical abilities, and an appreciation for thoughtful, highly detailed residential design.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing the architecture of a project, designing its interior architectural elements, producing comprehensive construction documents, and working through the details that ultimately define a finished home.

Our work is highly customized, and we are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in traditional architecture, architectural detailing, proportion, materials, and craftsmanship, while also being comfortable working across a range of architectural styles.

Responsibilities
  • Develop Architecture and Interior Architecture from initial concept and schematic design through construction documentation and project completion
  • Produce and coordinate comprehensive construction document sets
  • Develop detailed architectural drawings with a high level of accuracy and design sensitivity
  • Design and document interior architectural elements including millwork, cabinetry, paneling, stairs, fireplaces, trim, doors, openings, ceilings, built-ins, and other custom details
  • Create 3D digital models, drawings, and presentations to clearly communicate design concepts
  • Develop physical architectural models and 3D-printed models to study and communicate design ideas
  • Coordinate architectural and interior architectural design with the studio's interior design and landscape teams
  • Coordinate with engineers, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors, and craftspeople
  • Participate in client meetings and communicate confidently and professionally with residential clients
  • Participate in construction administration, including site visits, submittal review, field coordination, and resolution of design and construction issues
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines
  • Take ownership of assignments and proactively move projects forward with limited supervision
Qualifications
  • Professional degree or formal training in Architecture
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in Architecture and/or Interior Architecture
  • Strong experience producing residential construction documents and architectural details
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modeling software
  • Demonstrated proficiency in physical architectural model making and 3D printing, with an understanding of scale, proportion, and material representation
  • Strong understanding of residential construction, materials, assemblies, and detailing
  • Demonstrated interest in traditional architecture and architectural detailing
  • Experience with custom residential architecture and interior architecture strongly preferred
  • Excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to engage effectively and professionally with residential clients
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently to meet project deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing thoughtful, well-resolved work
