Job Description
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an outstanding individual for a faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at UT Southwestern and Children's Health Dallas to be part of a multidisciplinary Acute Care Cardiology Program.

Responsibilities will be in the clinical care of patients in our Acute Care Cardiology Unit (ACCU). The ACCU is a state-of-the-art space built to accommodate the care of a high volume of yearly cardiac surgeries and medical admissions. Clinical care in this unit will involve close collaboration with experts in congenital cardiac surgery, echocardiography, cardiac MRI, electrophysiology, cardiac catheterization, and cardiac anesthesia to name a few.

The unit has a long history of close partnership and leadership with national/international collaboratives (such as PAC3). Applicants have opportunities to seamlessly marry their clinical interests with their academic aspirations (clinical research, medical education, quality improvement, advocacy, etc).

The mission of the UT Southwestern Pediatric Cardiology Division is to deliver excellent, high quality/high value care to children today, to advance the field of pediatric cardiology through research and innovation, and to educate future physicians and researchers in the care of children with cardiac and cardiovascular disorders. The Division is among the largest in the nation with more than 50 faculty members who drive forward well-developed clinical and scholarly programs including interventional catheterization and electrophysiology;

fetal cardiology, and management of congenital heart disease from infancy to adulthood; heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and cardiovascular disease prevention; critical care medicine; cardiac imaging by echo, CT, and MR; and application of AI tools in numerous aspects of patient care. Expertise in the Heart Center is complemented by multidisciplinary experts from UT Southwestern Pediatric Group physicians in Critical Care Medicine, Pediatric and sub-specialty Surgery, Anesthesia, Diagnostic Radiology, and Pediatric Medical specialties.

The primary site of clinical care is Children's Health Dallas, one of the nation's largest children's hospitals; there is a busy echo lab, 3 dedicated catheterization laboratories, and 3 dedicated OR suites on the Dallas campus. With a 44-bed acute care cardiology telemetry unit, a 30-bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, 1.5T cardiac MRI facility, and more than 14,000 clinic visits/year, the Pediatric Cardiology faculty have resources sufficient to meet present and future needs of children across the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, with a population of more than 7,500,000 and growing.

The Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern has a long and rich history that is interwoven with the roots of Southwestern Medical School and with the development and growth of Children's Health, our primary clinical partner. The Department is structured into 17 academic divisions, consisting of more than 400 faculty members, and several clinical multidisciplinary programs that represent the full disciplinary of pediatric medicine today.

Parkland Health & Hospital System;
