Position Overview
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive and Liver Diseases, is seeking a gastroenterologist to serve as the Medical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Program.
This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
Qualifications- MD or equivalent degree from an accredited CME medical school.
- Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship accredited by ACGME.
- Eligibility for a Texas medical license.
- Board certification in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
- Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
- Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full‑time schedule.
- Oversee the planned expansion of the inflammatory bowel disease practice.
- Provide patient care in IBD and general GI care as a practicing gastroenterologist.
- Teach and train medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
