Visiting Assistant Professor position in Public Leadership and Administration at the University of North Texas s is a full-time, non-tenure-track role for the 2025/2026 Fall/Spring semester.
Position OverviewThe Department of Public Leadership and Administration invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor specializing in Public Administration and/or Public Affairs. This is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment.
Minimum Qualifications- Ph.D. in Public Administration, Public Affairs, or Public Policy (ABD/Master’s candidates will not be considered).
- 2-5 years of teaching experience at the university level.
- Demonstrated expertise in Public Administration, Public Affairs, or Public Policy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to deliver high-impact teaching experiences.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of thinkers and learners.
- Ability to teach on campus at UNT Dallas.
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated expertise in Public Administration, Public Affairs, or Public Policy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven ability to deliver high-impact teaching experiences.
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of thinkers and learners.
- Ability to teach on campus at UNT Dallas.
- Experience with online or hybrid teaching formats.
- Evidence of scholarly activity in the field of Public Administration.
- Teach graduate courses in Public Leadership & Administration.
- Develop and deliver high-impact and engaging course content.
- Foster a dynamic and supportive learning environment for an urban student body.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department's academic offerings.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- No adverse environmental conditions expected.
