Role Description / CriteriaKey Responsibilities
- Design and deliver a high‑quality Visual Arts programme aligned with the Victorian Curriculum (The Arts – Visual Arts) across Foundation to Year 6.
- Use the MACS Vision for Instruction to ensure clarity, scaffolding, explicit modelling, guided practice, and high expectations.
- Implement the MACS Vision for Engagement by fostering creativity, student agency, rich dialogue, and collaborative studio practices.
- Teach a range of artistic forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, textiles, collage, construction, and digital art.
- Differentiated learning based on assessment evidence to support diverse learners, including students with EAL backgrounds.
- Curate displays, exhibitions, and whole‑school arts experiences that celebrate creative expression.
- Foster a safe, inspiring, and well‑organised art studio environment.
- Collaborate with staff to connect the Arts programme with whole‑school priorities and community events.
- Deep knowledge of Visual Arts pedagogies and contemporary art practices.
- Ability to design sequential learning experiences that develop technical skills and creative thinking.
- Strong understanding of working with multicultural learners, including EAL students.
- Positive and proactive behaviour management strategies.
- A commitment to continuous professional growth and reflective teaching.
- Experience facilitating school‑wide arts events, exhibitions, or community art projects.
- Confidence using digital tools and technologies in visual arts learning.
- Commitment to Catholic education and the safety and wellbeing of all children.
- Current VIT registration.
- Current accreditation to teach in a Catholic School or a willingness to gain Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.
